TOVO Futurity
(2007 Breedings /Foals of 2008)
Rules & General Information

I. STALLION NOMINATIONS:

1.    All stallions offered must be registered APHA, AQHA, or JC, and be in compliance with all rules and regulations of said association.

2.    Stallion service will be sold through a sealed bid auction, with a minimum bid as advertised in the TOVO Stallion Book.  A stallion owner may request a higher minimum bid at his/her discretion.

3.    Any stallion services not purchased in the sealed bid auction will be offered at a live bid at GCPHC's year end banquet.

4.    If the stallion service is still unsold at the live bid, the stallion may be purchased on a first come first serve basis for the minimum bid as printed in the 2007 TOVO Online Stallion auction book, until June 1, 2007. A Stallion owner may purchase his/her own Stallion and will then receive ONE FREE stallion owners slot. The stallion service must sell in either the sealed bid, live bid or be purchased by June 1, 2007 for the 2008 foals to be eligible for the TOVO futurity.

5.    If a stallion owner wants to guarantee the sale of the stallion's service, he/she may do so by including a check for $350.00  If a stallion service does not sell the guarantee will entitle the stallion owner to ONE FREE slot). The check will not be cashed unless the stallion is still UNSOLD after the June 1, 2007 deadline.

6.    All stallions must be included in the official 2007 TOVO online book to be eligible for the auction.   LATE STALLIONS will not be offered for auction.  LATE STALLIONS will be accepted for eligibility into the futurity by sending in a signed contract and a check for the full amount of that stallions regular breeding fee. Until November 30, 2007.  Publicly advertised Private treaty stallions will pay as a regular fee, the average of all regular fee as printed in the 2007 TOVO Online Auction book.

7.    Stallions that were in the previous years TOVO book and did not sell, will not be required to send a guarantee check along with their current years contract.

8.    The highest bidder must use the stallion service. IT CANNOT BE RESOLD.

9.    The breeding is for the 2007 breeding season ONLY and must be used during the 2007 breeding season.

10. All contractual agreements, guarantees and expenses are wholly between the bidder and the stallion owner. GCPHC will at no time be held responsible for liabilities or debts incurred by mare or stallion owner.

11. When a stallion service sells, the stallion owner will receive a free weanling futurity slot for one of his/her 2008 foals of his/her choice. The successful bidder will receive a free 2008 weanling futurity slot for the foal resulting from the purchased breeding.

12. If a stallion is sold before the bidder's mare is bred, the new stallion owner must honor the TOVO futurity service.

13. Twenty percent of futurity income will be withheld for expenses.

14.  If the high bidders mare does not settle from the 2007 breeding, their free slot in NOT carried over for the next year.   A rebreed for the next year is at the sole discretion of the Stallion owner.   The stallion has to sell the next year for the foal resulting in the rebreed to be eligible for the 2009 futurity.

II.   BIDDER INFORMATION

1.    All mares bred must be registered APHA, AQHA or JC and be in compliance with all rules and regulations of said association.

2.    Bidding is done by sealed bid.  Sealed bid must be received by the Futurity Chairman prior to the opening of the bids at the annual banquet.

3.    If there are two bids on the same stallion of the exact same amount, the earliest postmark will determine the highest bidder. If postmarks are the same, only those bidders involved will be asked to resubmit a bid.

3.    Check must accompany bid. These checks will be returned if bid is unsuccessful. ONLY SUCCESSFUL BIDS WILL BE DEPOSITED.

4.    Insufficient funds checks will eliminate that bidder from further participation in the current auction.

5.    Successful bidder will receive one free 2008 weanling slot resulting from the purchased breeding.

6.    All 2007 regular APHA registry foals resulting from TOVO eligible stallions will be eligible to compete in the TOVO futurity. Breeding stock foals will be eligible to compete as weanlings, yearlings and two-year olds. See Solid Rule.

Solid Rule
Solid foals resulting from a purchased breeding will be allowed to show their weanling, yearling, and two year old year only. All solid foals, solid yearlings, and solid two-year olds, will show in their corresponding Fair class which is Breeding Stock.

7.    Any mare owner may nominate as many foals as they desire, by eligible sires, by the following nomination process.

III. FOAL NOMINATIONS:

Weanlings:

1. A space or spaces may be reserved by paying $200.00 per eligible foal:

            $200.00 per space on or before August 15, 2008.

2.    Insufficient funds or stop payment checks will disqualify the eligible weanling.

3.    All foals must be identified by August 15, 2008, including those with free slot, (sex, sire, dam, birth date).

3.    No substitutions after foal is named (August 15, 2008).

4.    Paid and free spaces may be transferred once foal is entered in the TOVO Futurity. Bid owner must notify GCPHC TOVO chairman in writing.

5.    Foals must be registered with APHA and a copy or original papers must be received PRIOR to the Fair.

6.    The TOVO futurity will be held at the Tulsa State Fair. Fair entries must be made to the Fair, as outlined in the 2007, 2008, and 2009 Tulsa State Fair premium books. Separate entries are to be made to the TOVO futurity.

7.    All foal owners and exhibitors must be members of GCPHC by show date.

8.    All TOVO entries are subject to drug testing.

9. There will be four weanling TOVO classes. The weanlings will receive 75% of the remaining TOVO auction funds as well as the weanling entry fees. This money will be split between the 4 classes based on the number of foals to actually show at the Fair.

a.   Early geldings & stallions (Mar. 31 & before)
b.   Late geldings & stallions (Apr. 1 & after)
c.   Early fillies (Mar. 31 & before)
d.   Late fillies (Apr. 1 & after)

Yearlings:

1.    All APHA registered 2007 foals sired by a stallion that sold in the 2006 TOVO Auction will be eligible to compete in the yearling TOVO halter futurity, at the 2008 Tulsa State Fair, regardless if it was shown as a weanling.

2.    Nomination fees for the yearling year shall be $175.00 per class. Yearlings are eligible for both halter and lounge line.

           
            $175.00 due on or before August 15, 2009

3.    Missed payments will double up to August 15. Missed payments after August 15 will triple up to the 2008 Deadline.

4.    There will be three yearling halter classes, and one yearling lounge line class offered. The yearlings will split 15% of the remaining TOVO auction funds, plus yearling entry fees, based on the number of yearlings to actually show at the Fair.

Two Year Old Western Pleasure:

1.    All regular registry 2007 foals sired by a stallion that sold in the 2006 TOVO Auction will be eligible to compete in the two year old snaffle bit futurity at the 2010 Tulsa State Fair, regardless if shown as a weanling or yearling.

2.    Nomination fees for the two year old year shall be $250.00

                       $250.00 due on or before August 15, 2010

3.    Insufficient funds or stop payment checks will disqualify the eligible Two Year Old.

4.    Two year olds will show for 10% of the remaining 2006 TOVO auction funds plus the two year old entry fees.

All entries are subject to drug testing. APHA rules will govern. Entries must be made separately, with different deadlines, to the Tulsa State Fair as well as the TOVO futurity.

FAIR BOARD WILL NOT ADD ANY MONEY TO CLASSES WITH LESS THAN 3 ENTRIES.
